Complex problems deserve more than a fast answer.

I turn misalignment
and chaos into clarity
teams can act on.

Gloria ZhongProduct Designer

Designer who thinks
in systems,
acts on detail.

If I weren’t a product designer, I’d probably have been a detective or a counsellor. This work is both. I use empathy to read the clues people leave behind, then figure out what they actually need, not what everyone assumed.

I do my best work where the problem isn’t defined yet, making sense of the ambiguity and competing goals and turning it into decisions a team can act on. Working across startups gave me an experimental streak and a strong sense of ownership.

I care as much about how a team works as what it ships, from building a user-centric culture to asking the questions that move a conversation forward. These days most of my curiosity goes to raising my toddler and a growing obsession with early childhood development. And I’ve watched Bones end to end more times than I’ll admit.

How I approach design

Empathize first

A design is only as useful as it is true to real user and stakeholder needs, not a prescription of what you assume is best. I treat design as an ego-free zone.

Customer obsessed

I like being close to the people I design for, hearing a frustration or brainstorming a fix together. Like method acting, immersing in someone's day-to-day is how you catch the nuance behind what they need.

North star vision

What separates a good designer from a great one is stepping back to ask how a decision serves the larger vision. I let that question guide the details.

Design Manager

You embody empathy, teamwork, and serious hustle. You ask the best questions without ever making someone feel you went for the jugular. You listen, and I can see your mind reframing what was said into something meaningful.

VP of Customer Success

Probably the most deeply empathetic designer we have, and a wealth of knowledge about our customer. Gloria asks the tough questions and knows what it takes to turn value into delight.
